taeste and tell: homemade lite pizza

Happy Saturdaaay!! For today's edition of Taeste and Tell I wanted to share with you guys a craving crusher!! A lot of people fall off of their program due to craving junk foods like pizza and burgers. The way I deal with staying on track AND getting to indulge sometimes is with "lite" cheat meals.

These are the healthiest versions of yummy cheat meals that I can possibly make! So I can feel good about getting a little taeste (see what i did there?) while also knowing that I'm not falling off of the wagon. Also, since I eat according to my macronutrients, this particular food is a perfect "cheat" because I can fulfill my macros in a tasty way!

So here's the recipe for my homemade lite pizza!:)

Homemade Lite Pizza

Serving: 1 pizza

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes (depending on size and power of your oven)

Ingredients:

4 oz Whole Wheat Pizza Dough

1.5 oz Low Fat Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

1/4 cup Organic Marinara Sauce

any additional toppings (veggies, pepperoni, etc)!

Olive Oil

Instructions:

1.) Preheat your oven to 425 degreed Fahrenheit

2.) Roll pizza dough into a ball and let rest for 15 minutes (according to package instructions)

3.) Cover a sheet pan with tin foil

4.) Spread a little bit of olive oil on the tin foil

5.) Spread your pizza dough into a circular shape on the tin foil (or on the previous surface you were using)

6.) Add the sauce, cheese, and any additional toppings you choose!

7.) Spread a bit of olive oil around the "crust" of the pizza

8.) Bake the pizza for 10-12 minutes or until the crust and cheese are golden brown

9.) Slice, serve, and enjoy!:)

This pizza is DELICIOUS and super filling! I can actually never finish a whole pizza! And it only has 2g of saturated fat!! Compare that to a small Domino's pizza (MY FAV) which has 21g of saturated fat!!

So if you're craving Domino's or Papa Johns or Pizza Hut...try this recipe out and crush that craving without crushing your fitness progress!!
